Peace vs. Corona Virus' Fear

Since the year 2020 started, there has been a major virus on people's minds.  That is the Coronavirus.

The reason why so many people get so afraid of it, is due to the fact that it can be deadly.  The Mainstream Media often drills in that fact way too severely, and way too often.  Thia is not the time for people to panic, but for people to use common sense prevention tactics, as well as to have faith that the God of the Universe has this World in His Hands.

People have been hoarding vital supplies from the supermarkets, and not thinking about others.  Toilet paper, meat, canned goods, cleaning supplies, etc. have often left store shelves entirely empty.  This fear is experienced by all people, whether they are Christians, other religions, or atheists.  People fear regardless of race too.  In my thinking, we are all one race:HUMAN!!
When the majority of the news is full of hype and sensationalism, it often causes the general public across the World to live in fear.  Fear of running out of supplies, money, fear of losing jobs, fear of losing their homes, and the worst fear of losing their lives.

We don't have to live in fear though.  God sent his Son to give us life, and more abundantly.  Jesus also gave us The Comforter when He rose up to be with God in Heaven.  The Comforter is just another name for the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost.  (Dependant upon which version of the Bible that you choose to use).

Here's a prayer for these perilous times:

Jesus has, and always been in the business of healing, and always will be.  We just need to trust in Him, and not only on ourselves.

Trust first in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
Proverbs 3:5‭-‬8 NKJV

Money

I know that it has been years since I've added any new content.  I apologize for that.  Years seem to go on and on without us even realizing what happened to them.

Today, I would like to write about something that most churches are afraid to talk about.  This subject is money.  Money in and of itself isn't bad.  What we do with it, and where our heart is makes a huge difference.

We can either be humble and Praise God for his providence to take care care of the necessities (Food, water, clothing, a home, and reasonable transportation.)  What gets God mad and jealous, is when we idolize money and don't put God first.  In the Bible it says," Trust in the Lord first with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.  Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.  It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.  Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce;  So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.  My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord Or loathe His reproof,  For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.  How blessed is the man who finds wisdom And the man who gains understanding.  For her profit is better than the profit of silver and her gain better than fine gold.  She is more precious than jewels; nothing you desire compares with her.  Long life is in her right hand; In her left hand are riches and honor.  Her ways are pleasant ways and all her paths are peace.  She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who hold her fast."
Proverbs 3:5‭-‬18 NASB

In these verses, the "she" that is referred to is the noun understanding and wisdom.

Life After Mom's Passing

Losing my Mom has been one of the toughest struggles in my life, aside from my Navy days.  Since her passing, I have noticed how much a part of me she has become.  I find that I am making a lot of similar jokes by messing around with word usage and sentence structures,  and my love for animals has been increasing more and more by the day.  I'm not saying that missing her is easy, because it's not.  However, what helps me a lot is to remember the positive and funny parts of Mom every day, and to celebrate her life.  In addition to all of this and more importantly, what really keeps me going is my faith in Jesus.  2 Corinthians 3 vs 4 and 5 states, "Such confidence we have in God through Christ Jesus; not that we are adequate to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God."  This is my lifetime verse, as well as the one that says, "Trust in The Lord with all your heart, AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING.   In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.  Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil."  Proverbs 3 vs. 5-8

Mary Bashor's Fight

My family is going through a very rough time right now.  My Mom, Mary Bashor, has been diagnosed with Lung Cancer that has spread down to her liver, and is traveling throughout her body.  She, as well as our family need your prayers.

On another note, she is a devout believer in Jesus.  At least she and we know where she is going when He calls her home.  Only God knows the answers, and all things turn out for good for those who love Him.  Please pray that God directs the Oncologist to performing His Most Perfect Plan for her life.  It says in His Word, "For by His Stripes we were healed."  In the Greek or Aramaic original text, it is talking in what is called "the perfect past tense."  The word "were" actually means "are" in this context.  I am praying for a Miracle, but am also preparing myself prayerfully in case God decides to take Mom home to be with Him.  Thank you my readers for your thoughts, well wishes and prayers in these difficult times in our lives.

For those of you who know my Mom, please send your memories to my email box at: jbashor65@gmail.com.  My family and I are starting to make a compilation of audio, video, and written memories from my Mom's life.

Petra - Rose-Colored Stained Glass Windows video

Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows

For those of us who attend church, what is our purpose for doing so?  Do we do it to "get out of the house", to make us feel good, so that we have a "social club", or do we do it out of our love for God, others, and then ourselves?  Are we there for a religious ceremony, or what is our purpose?

There is a song from the former Christian Rock band Petra that seems to fit this ideology.  It says, "Looking through Rose Colored stained glass windows, never allowing the world to come in, seeing no evil and feeling no pain, making the light as it comes from within, so dim, so dim."

In today's modern social networking, are we fans or followers of Jesus?  Do we go to church as spectators of a spiritual sporting exercise, or do we strive to live for Jesus each and every day of our lives?  Are we playing religious games with God, ourselves, and others while the world struggles to survive?  How can we say that we are FOLLOWERS of Jesus, unless we are truly FOLLOWERS of Jesus?  We can't live and truly be followers if we have one foot in the World, and one foot in the Gospel.  We can't be double-minded.  As Jesus said, "Either you are for me, or you are against me."  He also had said, "I would rather that you are either hot or cold.  If you are lukewarm, I will spew you out of my mouth."  The word "spew" in this context is another word for vomiting.  There is no room in God's eyes for "Closet Christians".  We need to show the World His love and life through our love and lives.  To the unbelievers, we may be the only Jesus that they'll ever see.  We may fool others, but God cannot be fooled nor mocked.  We need to take the messages that we all hear in church, apply the loving principles to our lives, then spread the Good News on to others.
